This travel pharmacist position offers the opportunity to provide crucial pharmacy services supporting a facility with 60 acute care beds and over 100 long-term care beds. The role is based in Lompoc, CA, with an immediate start and a commitment of 26 weeks or longer.
Schedule and Work Hours:
- Variable days and afternoons
- Four 10-hour shifts per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Verifying medication orders accurately and efficiently
- Supervising pharmacy technicians to ensure smooth operations
- Consulting with physicians and nursing staff on medication therapies and patient care
- Managing pharmacokinetics to optimize drug dosing and patient safety
- Utilizing Altera Sunrise pharmacy system; training provided for those unfamiliar with this system
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active California pharmacist license is required
- Current or recent hospital pharmacy experience preferred to navigate acute care settings effectively
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with clinical teams
- Ability to adapt to variable scheduling and dynamic clinical environments
