Regulatory Specialist - Food Manufacturer

Job Description

California Custom Fruits and Flavors is a leading supplier of value-added processed fruits and flavors to the dairy, bakery, beverage and foodservice industries. The company is looking to fill a Regulatory Specialist position. 1- 2 year experience in regulatory/documentation handling is preferred. Ideal candidate is organized, proactive and motivated to research solutions while ensuring customer-defined deadlines. Knowledge and experience with digitized documentation platforms like TraceGains would be ideal.

Primary Job Functions:

Responsible for preparing and managing technical documents such as product specification sheets, nutritional information, ingredient affidavits, safety data sheets, etc.
Answer customer inquiries regarding raw materials used, possible allergens, possible GMO, etc.
Answer customer inquiries regarding state proposition compliance, federal regulations, etc.
Input data into customer specific web portals.
Interact with independent certifiers such as Kosher, Halal, Organic, GMO-Project, Fair Trade, etc.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in one of the sciences such as Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, etc.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent critical thinking skills.
Must be organized and able to work under short deadlines with attention to detail.
Must be a team player and customer service oriented.
Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook.
Willingness to learn and conform to the constraints of an ERP system, Deacom specifically
