Payroll Specialist – Temp-to-Hire
Location: San Dimas, CA
Schedule: Hybrid after training
Pay: Up to $40/hour
Job Type: Temp-to-Hire
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist for a temp to hire position. Must have strong Excel skills and 3+ years of payroll processing experience. This position will support payroll processing, reconciliations, payroll accounting, tax reporting, and compliance.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist with processing bi-weekly payroll and maintaining employee payroll records
- Review payroll reports for accuracy and make necessary corrections
- Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate final reports
- Prepare and process payroll journal entries
- Review timesheets, attendance records, and payroll interfaces
- Process manual checks as needed
- Review garnishment calculations and compliance
- Ensure proper taxation of employer-paid benefits
- Assist with bi-weekly payroll tax submissions
- Support quarterly and annual payroll tax returns
- Review year-end W-2s and wage reconciliations
- Monitor payroll workflow to ensure transactions are processed accurately and on time
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong hands-on payroll processing experience
- Experience reviewing and reconciling payroll reports
- Knowledge of federal and state wage and payroll regulations
- Experience with payroll taxes, garnishments, W-2s, and payroll journal entries
- Strong accounting and reconciliation skills
- Advanced Excel skills required, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with confidential information
