Description\n
American Traveler is hiring a rapid response RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring AWHONN Fetal Monitoring and at least 2 years of L&D experience.
Details\n
- \n
- Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital setting
- Unit includes 11 labor beds, 4 OB Eval beds, 2 OB PACU beds, and 2 ORs
- Staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 10 staff nurses, and 2 OB techs per shift
- Patient ratios of 1 RN to 2 patients or 1 RN to 1 patient depending on acuity
- Uses GE fetal monitoring equipment
- Charts in CPN and Meditech EMR systems
- Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Floating to Postpartum-Couplets required
- Performs procedures including NST, cervical exams, labor management, medication titration, and McRoberts maneuver
- Fills in as needed for weekend coverage with no scheduled on-call requirement

Requirements\n
- \n
- Active CA RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP (Advanced 9th Edition), and AWHONN Fetal Monitoring (Intermediate or Advanced), or NCCEFM
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Couplet Care experience needed if floated
- Experience with transition nurse or baby catching preferred
- Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment start

- Provide rapid response labor and delivery nursing care in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Assignment is 6 weeks with the option to extend an additional 6 weeks at the same rate, contingent on full credentialing
- Must wear hospital-provided infant security scrubs
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility as this is a travel-only position with no local candidates accepted
- No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months
