Position Summary

primary responsibility is repairing and refinishing fiberglass walk-in tub shells, doors, and panels. The secondary responsibility is preparing and packing completed tubs for shipment. This position helps ensure that every tub meets company quality standards and arrives properly protected and complete.

Fiberglass repair is the priority. Packing duties are assigned according to repair workload and production needs.

Primary Duties Fiberglass Repair

· Inspect fiberglass and gelcoat surfaces for cracks, chips, scratches, voids, and other cosmetic or structural defects.

· Assess repair needs and report damage that requires supervisor review or may affect tub strength, door fit, or watertight performance.

· Prepare damaged areas by cleaning, sanding, grinding, and masking surrounding surfaces.

· Complete fiberglass and gelcoat repairs using approved materials, mixing ratios, application methods, and curing requirements.

· Match gelcoat color and finish; sand, buff, and polish repaired areas to blend with the surrounding surface.

· Protect plumbing, electrical components, door seals, and finished surfaces from repair dust, chemicals, and damage.

· Inspect completed repairs and coordinate any required quality checks or water testing before the tub is released for packing.

· Record repairs and materials used, maintain tools and supplies, and notify the supervisor of recurring defects.

Secondary Duties Tub Packing

· Confirm the tub model, door orientation, order details, accessories, and required documentation before packing.

· Check that the tub has received final quality approval; report damage, missing items, or discrepancies before shipment.

· Clean and dry approved tubs, protect finished surfaces and exposed components, and secure loose parts and accessories.

· Pack tubs using company-approved protective materials, cartons or crates, pallets, and strapping to prevent movement and transit damage.

· Apply identification and shipping labels, complete packing checklists, and stage finished tubs for shipment using approved handling procedures.


Qualifications

· Hands-on experience repairing fiberglass and gelcoat; experience with bathtubs, boats, or similar composite products is preferred.

· Ability to produce consistent color matches and smooth finishes with strong attention to detail.

· Experience using sanders, grinders, buffers, and other repair tools safely.

· Ability to follow work orders, repair instructions, product specifications, and packing checklists.

· Dependability, good communication, and the ability to work independently and with production and shipping teams.

· Packing, palletizing, or warehouse experience is preferred. Material-handling equipment may be operated only after required training and authorization.

Safety and Work Environment

· Work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment where repair tasks may involve dust, noise, resins, gelcoat, solvents, and other chemicals.

· Follow company safety procedures and product safety data sheets, including approved ventilation, dust control, chemical handling, storage, and disposal practices.

· Use required protective equipment, including eye, hand, hearing, and respiratory protection as applicable to the task and company safety program.

· Keep repair and packing areas clean and organized, and promptly report unsafe conditions, equipment problems, and product damage.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; bend, reach, kneel, and perform repetitive hand tasks; and inspect surface finish and color. Handle repair tools and packing materials and assist with moving tubs using lifting equipment or team assistance. Essential duties may be performed with reasonable accommodation.

Performance Expectations

Complete durable repairs that meet approved appearance and quality standards, minimize repeat repairs, maintain accurate records, and pack the correct tub and accessories securely. Meet assigned production and shipping schedules while following quality and safety procedures
