Role Description The Machinist role at CK Tool Company, Inc. is a full-time, on-site position located in Mountain View, CA. The Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring manual and/or CNC machines to produce precision parts according to engineering drawings and work instructions. Day-to-day tasks include reading blueprints, selecting appropriate tools and materials, performing measurements and inspections, and making necessary adjustments to ensure parts meet quality and tolerance requirements. The Machinist will maintain equipment, keep a clean and safe work area, and document production activities as needed. Collaboration with supervisors, engineers, and other shop personnel is expected to support efficient workflows and continuous process improvements.

- Experience in manual and/or CNC machining, including machine setup, operation, and basic programming or offset adjustments.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders, and apply shop math to calculate dimensions and tolerances.
- Proficiency with precision measurement tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges) and basic inspection practices to verify part quality.
- Knowledge of tooling and materials (e.g., cutting tools, metals, coolants) and understanding of proper speeds and feeds for various operations.
- Commitment to workplace safety, equipment care, and maintaining a clean, organized work environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a production setting.
- Prior experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment; vocational training or apprenticeship in machining is preferred.
- Willingness to learn new processes and technologies and adapt to changing production priorities.
