You’ll play a key role in enhancing students’ abilities to participate fully in school activities, ensuring that individual needs are met in accordance with best practices and state guidelines.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Occupational Therapist (OT) license in California
- Previous experience delivering OT services within a school setting preferred
- Proficient understanding of IEP development, implementation, and documentation
- Skilled in providing direct, in-person therapy to students with diverse needs
- Strong organizational skills to effectively manage caseload and comply with deadlines
- Ability to work collaboratively with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct, in-person occupational therapy services to students as outlined in IEPs
- Assess students’ functional and academic needs using standardized tools
- Develop targeted therapeutic interventions that enable students to access and participate in educational activities
- Contribute to and participate in IEP meetings, providing expert recommendations and progress updates
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in compliance with district and state requirements
