Johnson Service Group is looking for a Human Resources Technician for one of our clients in San Jose. This role is responsible for processing biweekly personnel changes, maintaining confidential personnel files, conducting routine data audits, generating reports, and supporting benefits administration and employee profile creation.
6-month Contract | 40 hours/week
Pay Rate: $34.92/hr
Responsibilities:
- Process biweekly personnel transactions, including temporary assignments, step increases, probation completions, promotions, transfers, supervisory changes, reorganizations, pay differentials, terminations, and retroactive pay requests.
- Maintain accurate employee statuses, pay rates, reporting structures, and organizational assignments in HR systems.
- Prepare employee notices for pay changes and notify appropriate parties of pay discrepancies.
- Create employee profiles and process new hire information in HRIS.
- Maintain confidential personnel files and supporting documentation.
- Run routine HR reports, queries, and benefit plan file feeds.
- Conduct data audits to identify discrepancies and maintain data accuracy.
- Respond to HRIS phone inquiries and manage shared inbox communications.
- Support benefits administration, personnel data research, and reporting.
- Communicate effectively with HR staff, employees, and stakeholders while maintaining confidentiality.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: One year of technical or administrative HR support experience in areas such as benefits administration, recruitment, or training, preferably involving databases.
- License: A valid California Driver’s License
