Precision Quartz Sawing & Sizing Specialist
Job Description
Job DescriptionPrecision Quartz Sawing & Sizing SpecialistShape the fragile into the precise
If you enjoy turning careful measurements into flawless cuts, this role lets you craft fused quartz components that demand accuracy and patience. Quartz is brittle — one rushed move can chip or crack material — so we value people who slow down to do it right the first time.
Why this role?
- Hands-on work with specialized cutting equipment in a precision manufacturing environment.
- Clear work orders and drawings guide your day; your craftsmanship delivers the result.
- Entry point into a niche glass manufacturing team with room to build new skills.
What will I work on?
- Cut fused quartz tubing, rod, and plate to specified sizes using saws and wet-cutting setups.
- Interpret work orders, basic drawings, and dimensional specifications.
- Confirm measurements before and after each cut to ensure accuracy and tolerance.
- Set up and fine-tune cutting equipment for each job.
- Change, align, and care for cutting blades.
- Inspect each part for squareness, chips, cracks, and dimensional conformity.
- Handle, stage, and move delicate quartz materials, including larger pieces, safely.
- Enter production and material data in an ERP or production tracking system.
- Manage coolant and cutting slurry for wet-cutting operations.
- Clean equipment and keep your workstation organized at shift end.
- Work safely and wear all required PPE, including eye protection.
What skills help me shine?
- 2–3 years of manufacturing experience preferred; strong mechanically inclined candidates with less experience are welcome.
- Fluent with calipers, scales, and tape measures.
- Comfortable holding tight dimensions and tolerances.
- Ability to read work orders, basic drawings, and specs.
- Confident with basic math for measurements and calculations.
- Basic computer literacy for data entry.
- Safe around saws and industrial cutting equipment.
- Detail-driven, patient, and methodical work style.
- Basic English required; Vietnamese language ability is a plus.
What training is offered?
You will receive on-the-job training in:
- Specific cutting machines and setup procedures.
- Blade selection, changing, and alignment.
- Fused quartz handling and cutting best practices.
- Internal drawings, tolerances, and quality requirements.
- Production paperwork and job traveler workflows.
- ERP usage and material tracking.
What does the work environment require?
- Standing for extended periods.
- Regularly lifting or maneuvering 50 lbs or more.
- Production-floor setting with industrial noise.
- Exposure to wet-cutting operations, coolant, and slurry.
- Careful handling of fragile materials to prevent chips and cracks.
- Consistent use of required PPE while performing production work.
What does success look like?
Quality over speed. Measure twice, cut once, and respect the material. No specific certifications or licenses are required to begin. Show capability, quality, consistency, and productivity, and you can grow into more advanced work within our specialized department.
