Job Title: Finish Carpenter / Door & Window Installer - $30 hr.

Job Description

This role focuses on the installation, finishing, and quality craftsmanship of doors, windows, trim, and other interior and exterior components within a modular home manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include installing pre-hung doors, interior and exterior windows, hardware, trim packages, and finish carpentry elements while ensuring all work meets company quality standards. The ideal candidate has strong carpentry experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work from blueprints and production schedules in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

  • Install interior and exterior doors, including pre-hung units, jambs, hardware, locks, and associated trim.
  • Install residential windows, ensuring proper fit, alignment, sealing, weatherproofing, and operation.
  • Measure, cut, and install casing, baseboards, trim, molding, and other finish carpentry components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and production specifications to ensure accurate installation.
  • Perform layout work, material preparation, and assembly to maintain production efficiency and quality standards.
  • Inspect doors and windows for proper operation, fitment, weather sealing, and finish quality.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, nail guns, routers, drills, and saws safely and effectively.
  • Perform adjustments, repairs, and punch-list work on doors, windows, and trim as needed.
  • Follow production schedules while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while adhering to all company safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with production teams, supervisors, and other trades to meet manufacturing goals and deadlines.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of finish carpentry, door installation, window installation, or residential construction experience.
  • Strong experience installing interior and exterior doors, door hardware, and trim packages.
  • Experience installing residential windows, including flashing, sealing, and weatherproofing techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and shop plans.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and finish carpentry equipment.
  • Strong measuring, layout, and material-cutting skills.
  • Knowledge of construction materials, fasteners, adhesives, and installation methods.
  • Ability to maintain tight tolerances and high-quality workmanship.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and craftsmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in modular home manufacturing, residential construction, or production environments preferred.
  • Familiarity with building codes, window flashing systems, and weatherproofing practices.
  • Experience with finish carpentry, cabinetry, or millwork installation is a plus.
  • Ability to identify and correct installation defects or quality concerns.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials and work in various positions including kneeling, bending, climbing, and reaching.
  • Experience working in production-driven environments and meeting daily output goals.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and attendance record.
  • Ability to work overtime and occasional Saturdays as needed.

Work Environment

This position is based in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility where modular homes are assembled indoors. Employees work alongside multiple skilled trades in a production-driven environment focused on quality, efficiency, and craftsmanship. The schedule is typically Monday through Friday, with overtime and occasional Saturdays available based on production needs. The role requires standing for extended periods, frequent use of hand and power tools, lifting and positioning doors and windows, and maintaining high standards of installation quality throughout the production process.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sacramento, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
