Position Overview
Northwestern Mutual's Orange County office is seeking a motivated professional to join our team as a Financial Advisor. In this role, you will work directly with clients to help them identify financial goals, develop comprehensive financial plans, and implement strategies designed to support their long-term objectives.
Whether you are experienced in financial services or transitioning from another profession, you will have access to training, mentorship, and professional development resources designed to help you build a successful practice.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing clients
- Conduct discovery-based meetings to understand clients' financial situations, goals, and priorities
- Create and present personalized financial planning recommendations
- Provide guidance related to investment planning, risk management, retirement planning, and estate considerations
- Stay current on financial products, industry developments, and market trends
- Obtain and maintain required licenses and registrations
- Review client plans regularly and recommend adjustments as circumstances change
- Collaborate with specialists and other professionals when appropriate to meet client needs
- Build and manage your own client base and business over time
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
- Prior experience in sales, business development, client service, or relationship management preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build trust and maintain professional client relationships
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and develop professionally
- Strong ethical standards and professional judgment
- Interest in personal finance, wealth management, or financial planning
