Professional Development Trainer for Educators
Job Description
Job Description
If you've mentored new teachers through their first year, you've probably spent a lot of that time on classroom management. Our trainers teach K-12 educators classroom management, and we'd like more of them in San Jose, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, Milpitas, and Campbell.
Training happens at schools and over video, for whole staffs or for smaller groups of teachers. The Center for Teacher Effectiveness has been at it since 1993, and our trainings have reached more than 400,000 educators in all 50 states.
Trainers work as 1099 independent contractors. Hours aren't guaranteed, and you'll train more in some years than in others. A training day usually pays $1,000 or more, and trainers get paid every Friday.
Most of the schools you train for will be ones you contacted, using the outreach approach from certification. When a school wants to move ahead, your National Director takes over the contract and negotiates the details. There's no territory to stay inside, so you can train close to home or anywhere in the U.S.
Everyone begins with the virtual Weekend Certification: 36 hours, three days, two weekends. It qualifies for 4 graduate credits through UMass Global. You'll also get an orientation, the materials for each training, and continued support from us.
Current and former K-12 teachers, mentor teachers, instructional coaches, counselors, and principals all fit. Most trainers keep their school positions and schedule trainings on evenings, weekends, personal days, and over summer break. Students who will complete certification can apply too.
