Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and provide nursing care to critically ill patients in the CVICU, including ventilated and multi-system failure cases
- Assess patient condition continuously and respond to changes with timely interventions; administer medications per care plans
- Supervise and delegate tasks to ancillary staff within scope of practice; maintain high standards of patient safety and quality of care
- Monitor hemodynamics, invasive lines, and respiratory status; implement care protocols for neuro/trauma and respiratory failure cases
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, document accurately, and ensure smooth patient transitions and clear handoffs
- Adhere to infection control, safety policies, and CVICU-specific procedures and protocols
Requirements
- Active California Registered Nurse license
- CVICU or critical care nursing experience preferred
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts in a hospital critical care setting
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Proven ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
