Exciting opportunities are available for Special Education Teachers at a vibrant TK-2 school! This contract position supports a dedicated team while a few teachers are on leave. The site has strong substitute coverage for daily classroom needs. Your expertise is needed to manage crucial tasks behind the scenes—including data collection, completing formal assessments, drafting IEPs, and participating in meetings when necessary.
This role is in-person and begins immediately, continuing through spring with a strong possibility of extension until the end of the academic year. Full-time hours are preferred, but flexible part-time arrangements may also be considered for the right candidate.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid California Special Education Teaching Credential required
- Experience in elementary school special education settings strongly preferred
- Proficiency in gathering student data and conducting formal assessments
- Excellent written communication capabilities for creating comprehensive IEPs
- Confidence participating in team meetings and collaborating with educators and support staff
- Strong organization and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and within set timelines
Primary Responsibilities:
- Collect and analyze student data to support IEP development and interventions
- Complete formal special education assessments as necessary
- Craft and update IEPs that align with compliance requirements and student needs
- Attend IEP meetings and relevant team sessions as required
- Support substitutes and regular educators with special education documentation and guidance
