Position Summary

Under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, the Physical Therapist Assistant will provide therapeutic treatments designed to improve residents' mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and overall functional independence. The PTA will play a vital role in helping residents achieve their rehabilitation goals and improve their quality of life.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out treatment plans established by the Physical Therapist

  • Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, and mobility interventions

  • Monitor resident progress and communicate findings to the Physical Therapist

  • Accurately document treatments, resident responses, and progress toward goals

  • Collaborate with nursing staff, therapists, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members

  • Educate residents and families regarding therapy programs and safety recommendations

  • Maintain compliance with all facility, state, federal, and professional standards

Qualifications

  • Current California Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in good standing

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

  • Skilled nursing facility experience preferred but not required

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Passion for helping others achieve their highest level of function and independence

  • Ability to work effectively in a team-centered environment
