Detox Specialist

About the Role

We’re looking for a dependable, compassionate Detox Specialist to join our residential treatment team. In this role, you’ll provide shift-by-shift supervision of the client milieu and care for clients’ essential needs while they complete detoxification protocols. You’ll be a steady, professional presence for people at one of the most important moments of their recovery.

What You’ll Do

Client Supervision and Safety

• Conduct client rounds every 30 minutes, checking vital signs and recording them on the rounds sheet
• Administer detox protocols for all detox clients, including CIWA and COWS assessments, vital signs, and rounds
• Provide crisis intervention as needed

Admissions and Documentation

• Complete new admission intake per program policy, including UA collection, belongings searches, and paperwork
• Document daily client progress in client files (overnight staff also record the quantity and quality of client sleep)
• Read the shift log at the start of each shift, then complete your own shift log and all essential tasks by the end of the shift
• Complete all supervision duties and documentation within Program and DHCS timelines

Medication Support

• Observe client medications in accordance with Program and DHCS guidelines
• Log new medications and medication changes per DHCS and facility procedures

Daily Operations

• Transport clients to appointments, meetings, and other outings as needed
• Assist, teach, and supervise clients with household chores, cleanliness, and kitchen clean-up
• Handle filing, copying, and other office duties
• Other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring

Required

• 1 year of experience as support staff at a residential treatment facility
  
• Excellent customer service, punctuality, and professionalism
• Ability to follow instructions clearly and precisely while balancing multiple competing demands
• Current First Aid/CPR certification
• Valid California driver’s license and a good driving record
  
• Current TB result within 1 year

Preferred

• 2 years of relevant experience

• Schedule: Day 7am to 3:30pm * Swing 3pm-11:30pm * Overnight 11pm-7:30am
