Fleet Manager - Heavy Equipment

We have an immediate opportunity for a Fleet Manager for the San Bernadino County. This individual will oversee vehicle & heavy equipment acquisition and maintenance. The ideal candidate must have proven management and organizational skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Previous experience as a Fleet Supervisor or Manager overseeing vehicle and heavy equipment acquisition in the utility or construction industry
  • Ability to manage tools, vehicles, and heavy equipment logistics for the department, including procurement, maintenance, and transportation
  • Coordinate equipment mobilization/demobilization and maintain utilization of equipment
  • Ability to develop an annual overhead and equipment budget
  • Develop and maintain relationships with outside vendors and interval customers
  • Ensure compliance with DOT regulations

Education and Experience:

  • Excellent organizational and management skills required
  • Must have computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software
  • Strong negotiation skills are required
  • 5 plus years of experience working in the utility/construction fleet-related business required
  • Must have High School Diploma or equivalent
