Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare surfaces by sanding, cleaning, solvent wiping, and other required surface preparation.
Mask parts and surfaces per work instructions, drawings, and specifications; load and unload paint racks.
Mix and prepare primers, paints, coatings, and solvents per manufacturer instructions and job specifications.
Apply primer and paint using spray equipment to parts of varying sizes, shapes, and contours; apply gloss, semi-gloss, and flat finishes.
Operate curing ovens and monitor temperatures, cycles, and processing times.
Inspect painted parts for coverage, finish, and quality; correct runs, sags, overspray, and other defects.
Clean and maintain paint guns, spray equipment, booths, and filters.
Follow work orders, travelers, blueprints, safety rules, and the quality management system.

Requirements:

Minimum of 2 years in an industrial paint shop or production painting environment.
Aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or automotive painting experience preferred.
Experience mixing to specified ratios and applying a variety of primers and paints with spray guns.
Knowledge of surface preparation, masking, priming, painting, and curing processes.
Basic ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders.
Ability to pass a respirator fit test and pulmonary evaluation when required.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform repetitive tasks throughout the day.
