Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Responsibilities:

Provide patient care in a manner conducive to safety and comfort

Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
-
Obtain and record vital signs and weights per policy
-
Assist patients with ambulation and transfers
-
Position patients in correct body alignment in and out of bed
-
Apply adaptive equipment as ordered
-
Care for personal belongings
-
Assist physician and/or licensed nurse with treatments and procedures as needed
-
Make both occupied and unoccupied beds
-
Accompany patients to outside appointments as requested
-
Participate in care planning and implement care according to care plan
-
Perform skin care treatments, as permitted by state regulation
-
Apply simple clean dressings, slings, stockings, and support bandages under direction of licensed nurse
-
Feed or assist patients with meals and provide additional nourishment and hydration per care plan
-
Record patient's oral intake and output
-
Use electronic medical record according to business processes
-
Answer call light or bell promptly and deliver messages
-
Clean areas of spillage or accidents
-
Adhere to Standard precautions when caring for all patients
-
Participate in quality improvement activities as requested
-
Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive PHI at all times
Requirements:

Current California Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
-
Basic knowledge of computer use or willingness to learn
-
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
-
Ability to lift, transfer, and reposition patients
-
Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays

Qualifications:
