Job DescriptionWe are looking for an Accounts Receivable Analyst to support a Contract assignment based in Brea, California. This role focuses on resolving outstanding cash application issues, investigating payment discrepancies, and improving account accuracy for customers across the South Central region. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical ability, careful attention to detail, and confidence working with large data sets in Excel within a wholesale distribution environment.
Responsibilities:
• Review customer accounts to identify and resolve misapplied cash transactions affecting the South Central region.
• Investigate unapplied payments by tracing remittance details, validating supporting information, and assigning funds correctly.
• Reconcile account activity for high-volume or large customer portfolios to improve the accuracy of receivable records.
• Analyze payment trends and exceptions to determine root causes of posting issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Use Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP functions, to organize data, compare records, and support payment research.
• Apply cash receipts accurately and update account information to reflect current payment status.
• Collaborate with internal teams to gather documentation needed to clear aged items and reduce outstanding discrepancies.
• Work within accounts receivable systems, including Microsoft Dynamics when applicable, to maintain reliable transaction records.
• Experience in accounts receivable, with a strong background in cash application and payment reconciliation.
• Proven ability to research and resolve misapplied or unapplied customer payments.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including hands-on experience using VLOOKUP for data analysis.
• Strong analytical thinking and a high level of accuracy when working with financial information.
• Ability to manage detailed account research for large customer accounts and high-volume transactions.
• Effective organizational and time-management skills in a deadline-driven environment.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is preferred.
