Job Description

Make an impact every day by supporting students across an entire county as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. This contract opportunity offers a dynamic role for educators with expertise in Deaf/Hard of Hearing instruction who value face-to-face connection and are passionate about maximizing student potential.

As the dedicated on-site resource, you’ll work with approximately 30 students, adapting your approach to meet a variety of needs, including supporting those with cochlear implants. Rather than being based at a single school, your work spans multiple settings, giving you the chance to collaborate with diverse teams and make a difference in many educational environments throughout the county.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid credential in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with children and adolescents who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Familiarity supporting students with cochlear implants
  • Strong communication, flexibility, and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel within the county as required

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and tailored educational support to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students (caseload of approximately 30)
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, speech-language pathologists, and other service providers
  • Assess students’ progress and adapt individual education plans to promote growth
  • Guide and advise school staff on best practices for inclusion and accessibility
  • Ensure students receive services as determined by their IEPs
  • Serve as a resource for families, promoting strong home-school partnerships

This is a full-time, 35-hour per week, on-site contract role—ideal for educators eager to move beyond virtual environments and engage directly with students and colleagues in person.

Ready to make a regional impact and support a dynamic group of learners? Apply today to bring your dedication and expertise to this rewarding opportunity!

Compensation for this position ranges from $37.71 to $57.71. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
