Direct Counsel is seeking a Mandarin-Speaking Litigation Associate Attorney with at least 2 years of experience to join a leading global law firm and its highly regarded Business Litigation practice.

Position Overview

The ideal candidate will have substantial commercial litigation experience at a leading law firm and native or near-native fluency in both Mandarin Chinese and English. This role offers the opportunity to handle sophisticated litigation matters while working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in sophisticated commercial and business litigation matters.
  • Conduct legal research and develop legal strategies for complex disputes.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, memoranda, and other litigation documents.
  • Analyze complex legal and factual issues and develop effective arguments.
  • Assist with all phases of litigation, from case development through resolution.
  • Manage multiple sophisticated matters and competing deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, and other stakeholders in both Mandarin Chinese and English.
  • Collaborate with attorneys across offices and practice areas.
  • Exercise sound judgment and maintain consistently high-quality work product.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of substantive commercial litigation experience at a leading law firm.
  • Native or near-native fluency in spoken and written Mandarin Chinese and English.
  • Exceptional legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience handling sophisticated commercial litigation matters.
  • Strong academic credentials from a top-tier law school.
  • Excellent attention to detail and sound professional judgment.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice, or eligibility for admission, in the jurisdiction where the candidate intends to practice.

Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this position is $235,000–$420,000 annually, depending on geographic location, applicable experience, skill set, and other relevant factors.
