Summary

A respected multifamily builder is looking for an experienced Superintendent to lead projects in LA county. This position will have full responsibility for day-to-day field operations, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, quality, and communication with project stakeholders.

This role is best suited for a Superintendent who has spent the majority of their career building multifamily communities rather than general commercial or tenant improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all day-to-day field operations for a ground-up multifamily project
  • Develop, maintain, and actively manage the project schedule
  • Drive short-term and long-term scheduling with subcontractors and project teams
  • Coordinate trades, manpower, sequencing, inspections, and material deliveries
  • Conduct subcontractor meetings and communicate upcoming schedule requirements
  • Identify schedule risks and proactively develop recovery plans when needed
  • Maintain project quality and ensure work is completed according to plans and specifications
  • Work closely with Project Management on RFIs, submittals, changes, and field issues
  • Communicate professionally with ownership, consultants, inspectors, and other project stakeholders
  • Manage project closeout, punch, and turnover activities

Requirements

  • 5+ years of construction field experience with a strong multifamily background
  • Proven experience leading ground-up multifamily projects as a Superintendent
  • Affordable housing and/or market-rate multifamily experience strongly preferred
  • Townhome, walk-up, garden-style, or similar wood-frame residential experience
  • Experience with garage-level units and residential construction above preferred
  • Strong scheduling experience required
  • Ability to manage subcontractor sequencing and maintain an aggressive project schedule
  • Strong understanding of plans, specifications, inspections, and construction sequencing
  • Professional communication skills with the ability to work directly with owners and project stakeholders
