Job Description
Help test the software that’s teaching cars to drive
We build the software and simulation tools that autonomous vehicle and robotics companies use to develop, test, and validate their systems. We’re growing our vehicle testing team in Sunnyvale and hiring Vehicle Testing Specialists to join the people who put that software through its paces on real vehicles.
You’ll run daily tests on autonomous vehicle (AV) and ADAS development vehicles, work alongside software engineers and vehicle operators, and report what you find so the engineers can act on it. Your observations don’t sit in a report no one reads. They shape how the software gets built.
What you’ll do
- Execute test plans on AV and ADAS development vehicles
- Work with vehicle operators to run tests professionally and efficiently
- Write detailed notes and formal reports on testing activities and results
- Team up with software engineers and operations to improve testing procedures
- Serve as a safety champion for the testing program
What you bring
Required
- 2+ years of hardware or software testing, data entry, or similar technical experience
- Hands-on experience with ADAS, autonomous vehicles, or other automotive testing (required, not just an interest in the field)
- Working knowledge of common vehicle sensors, including cameras, radar, LiDAR, and GPS/IMU, and the role each plays in an autonomous system
- Ability to tell hardware issues (sensors, radar, cameras) from software issues (functionality, assurance), ideally with a real example from your work
- A solid general understanding of what AV testing and operations involve
- Ability to explain how you would prepare a vehicle for a given test
- Experience troubleshooting computers or other hardware
- Exceptional attention to detail and clear written communication
- A collaborative mindset and real interest in how autonomy software works
- Availability for our shift schedules, including evenings and weekends, and for the initial 2 to 3 weeks of weekday training
- Ability to work fully onsite in Sunnyvale, CA
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship (we’re unable to work with corp-to-corp arrangements)
Preferred
- Experience with software development practices or Linux
- Familiarity with Slack, Jira, Confluence, and Google Workspace
Why you’ll like it
- Work hands-on with live development vehicles at a leading autonomy software company
- Work closely with software engineers and see how your feedback shapes the product
- Full benefits, including subsidized healthcare, an FSA, disability and life insurance, and a 401(k)
- A choice of shifts and schedules, including weekend-inclusive and 4x10 options
