Ideal candidates bring experience working with diverse learners and demonstrate a caring, adaptable teaching style. You’ll be instrumental in planning, differentiating instruction, and delivering targeted support according to individualized education plans (IEPs).
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching credential or certification
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher in a K-12 setting preferred
- Proficiency in developing, implementing, and monitoring IEPs
- Strong communication skills for working with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to maintain accurate records and progress data
- Commitment to creating a supportive, accessible classroom atmosphere
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students in individual and Group settings, adapting curriculum to meet unique needs
- Collaborate with general education staff, therapists, and parents to ensure cohesive support
- Develop and update IEPs, collect assessment data, and track student progress
- Utilize a range of strategies and interventions to encourage academic and social growth
- Offer guidance, motivation, and encouragement to help students develop self-confidence and independence
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development as needed
