Responsibilities:
- Assist medical billing specialists with data entry, claims submission, and billing documentation
- Review and verify patient information for accuracy and completeness
- Support the processing of insurance claims and follow up on outstanding balances
- Help maintain organized billing records and patient accounts in billing software
- Communicate with insurance companies and patients regarding billing inquiries
- Assist with posting payments, adjustments, and denials to patient accounts
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and company billing policies
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in medical billing or coding is a plus
- Basic understanding of medical billing, CPT/ICD-10 codes, or insurance processes preferred
- Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and willingness to learn billing software
- Excellent organizational and time management skills in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and professionalism
