We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented **Inside Sales Representative** to join our Brisbane team. The ideal candidate has experience in pipe and fittings, waterworks, industrial distribution, or construction materials and understands the importance of responsive customer service and strong product knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Customer Service
- Respond to customer inquiries by phone and email regarding product availability, pricing, specifications, and delivery timelines.
- Prepare accurate and timely customer quotes, estimates, and sales orders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, including contractors, purchasing agents, and project managers.
- Follow up on outstanding quotes, identify sales opportunities, and help convert inquiries into orders.
- Work closely with outside sales representatives to support customer accounts and ongoing projects.
- Assist customers in identifying appropriate products, fittings, and materials for their applications.
Order Management & Coordination
- Process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, and logistics teams to confirm inventory availability and delivery schedules.
- Monitor open orders, communicate updates, and proactively resolve customer issues.
- Assist with sourcing materials and obtaining vendor pricing when necessary.
- Maintain accurate customer information, order records, and sales documentation.
Product & Industry Knowledge
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of HDPE pipe, fittings, and related products.
- Interpret customer material lists, product specifications, and project requirements.
- Understand common pipe sizes, pressure ratings, connection methods, and industry terminology.
- Stay informed about product availability, lead times, and market conditions.
Qualifications
Preferred Experience
- 2–5+ years of inside sales, customer service, or account management experience in industrial distribution, waterworks, pipe and fittings, plumbing supply, or construction materials.
- Familiarity with HDPE pipe, fittings, underground utilities, or related products is strongly preferred.
- Experience preparing material quotes and processing sales orders.
- Experience working with contractors, construction companies, or industrial customers.
Required Skills
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple customer requests and competing priorities.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to follow through.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook and Excel.
- Comfortable learning inventory management and ERP systems.
- Team-oriented, dependable, and proactive.
Experience with Sage 100 or similar distribution software is a plus.
