Walden & Associates is an established Civil Engineering and Land Surveying firm located in Irvine, California. For more than 50 years, we have provided civil engineering and surveying services throughout Southern California.
We specialize in land development projects, including commercial, industrial, and residential development, as well as projects for local public agencies. Our services include land planning, tentative and final mapping, grading and improvement plans, hydrology and hydraulics, storm drain, sewer and water design, and a full range of surveying services, including topographic surveys, ALTA surveys, mapping, and construction staking.
We are a small, experienced team offering the stability of a long-established firm with a collaborative and flexible work environment.
Project Manager
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to independently manage and complete a variety of land development projects. This is a hands-on position in which the Project Manager is responsible for both the design and day-to-day management of their own projects, including preparation of plans, calculations, agency coordination, client communication, and plan-check processing through approval.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of civil engineering/land development experience and be comfortable handling projects independently while working closely with our principals, licensed Civil Engineers, and Survey Department.
Key Responsibilities
· Independently manage and complete land development projects from initial design through agency approval.
· Prepare grading, improvement, utility, sewer, water, and storm drain plans.
· Perform design work using AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
· Prepare and/or coordinate hydrology and hydraulic analyses.
· Prepare and coordinate WQMP, SWPPP, and other applicable stormwater requirements.
· Coordinate directly with clients, consultants, utility companies, and public agencies.
· Prepare agency submittals, respond to plan-check comments, and complete required revisions.
· Coordinate with our in-house Survey Department as needed for project design and construction.
· Manage individual project schedules, budgets, priorities, and deliverables.
· Work closely with the firm's licensed Civil Engineers for technical review and final plan approval.
Qualifications
· Minimum 5 years of civil engineering/land development experience.
· Strong hands-on land development design and project management experience.
· Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
· Experience preparing grading and improvement plans.
· Familiarity with Southern California public agency requirements and plan-check processes.
· Ability to independently take projects from design through approval.
· Strong organizational and communication skills.
· Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
· California PE license preferred, but not required.
Compensation
$50.00–$62.00 per hour ($104,000–$128,960 annual equivalent), depending on experience and qualifications.
Additional compensation is paid for additional hours worked.
