Job Overview
Seeking a Commodity Specialist to support sourcing strategy and supplier management within the Mechanical Fabrications commodity group. This role focuses on RFQs, supplier negotiations, cost reduction initiatives, and transitioning work to optimized suppliers while partnering with Engineering and Program teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for mechanical fabrication suppliers
- Manage RFQs and perform bid analysis
- Support contract negotiations and Long-Term Agreements (LTAs)
- Drive supplier cost reduction initiatives
- Improve supplier performance and support recovery plans when needed
- Partner with Engineering, Program Management, and Procurement teams
- Support make-vs-buy and supplier transition projects
- Assist with new program supplier launches
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 3+ years of experience in sourcing, commodity management, or supply chain
- 1+ year of supplier negotiation experience
- Experience supporting RFQs and supplier selection activities
- U.S. Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications
- Aerospace, automotive, or industrial manufacturing experience
- Experience sourcing sheet metal, weldments, machined parts, castings, or forgings
- Strong Excel skills for data and cost analysis
- Ability to present to cross-functional teams and leadership
