Junior Building Engineer – MEP / Facilities

360 Building Engineering | Hybrid / Remote with Field Work

$90,000–$150,000 base + 10% target annual bonus

Love figuring out how buildings actually work, not just how they look on drawings? 360 Building Engineering is looking for a hands-on technical professional to join our building engineering consulting team.
\n
\n
This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in HVAC, mechanical systems, facilities, construction, or a related trade who wants to grow into broader MEP and building engineering consulting. A four-year engineering degree is NOT required. We value real field experience.
\n
\n
WHAT YOU'LL DO
\n
- Perform site investigations, facility assessments, job walks, and equipment surveys
\n
- Review MEP and fire/life-safety drawings for coordination, constructability, and alignment with field conditions
\n
- Review submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and equipment specifications
\n
- Provide field representation during construction, installation, testing, and commissioning
\n
- Identify design conflicts, installation issues, and opportunities for improvement
\n
- Prepare field reports, punch lists, scopes of work, and technical recommendations
\n
- Support equipment startup, functional testing, troubleshooting, and project closeout
\n
- Work directly with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and facility teams
\n
\n
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
\n
- 5+ years of combined relevant experience and technical training, including at least 1 year of direct field experience in commercial, industrial, or institutional facilities
\n
- Backgrounds in HVAC install/service, mechanical or electrical trades, facilities engineering, controls/BMS, commercial construction, commissioning, or similar
\n
- Working knowledge across several areas: HVAC, piping, electrical distribution, plumbing, fire/life safety, roofing, building automation, and construction documents
\n
- Polished, professional communication. You'll represent us with senior clients and explain technical issues to technical and non-technical audiences alike
\n
- Good judgment about when to handle an issue independently and when to escalate
\n
- Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office, PDF markup, cloud collaboration, video conferencing, and a willingness to learn new tools
\n
\n
Nice to have: AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, SketchUp, BMS software, infrared or 360° cameras, or digital test equipment. A degree in engineering, engineering technology, or construction management is welcome but not required.
\n
\n
We encourage applicants from apprenticeships, trade programs, technical schools, military technical training, facilities operations, and other hands-on career paths. You don't need to be an expert in every discipline. We're looking for a solid foundation and a real desire to learn.

WHAT WE OFFER

- $90,000–$150,000 base salary, depending on experience and qualifications
\n
- 10% target annual bonus (roughly $99,000–$165,000 in total target cash compensation)
\n

WORK ENVIRONMENT
\n
Much of the drawing review, documentation, and coordination is done remotely. Field assignments are a core part of the role and may include regional or out-of-area travel, overnight stays, and occasional early-morning, evening, or off-hours work.
