MalaceHR is seeking a skilled Commercial Refrigeration Technician to support service and maintenance of light commercial refrigeration equipment across retail environments. This role focuses on troubleshooting, repair, installation, and preventive maintenance of non-supermarket refrigeration systems. The ideal candidate is technically strong, customer-focused, and comfortable working independently in the field.
Must have EPA and valid drivers license
Key Responsibilities

Diagnose, repair, and maintain light commercial refrigeration equipment, including:

Walk-in coolers
-
Walk-in freezers
-
Ice machines
-
Self-contained refrigeration units
-
Other light commercial refrigeration systems

Perform preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and equipment reliability
-
Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration system issues

Complete service calls efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship

Accurately document work performed, parts used, and recommended follow-up actions

Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and internal teams

Follow all safety standards, EPA regulations, and company policies

Service is focused on light commercial and retail environments
Qualifications

2+ years of experience as a Commercial Refrigeration Technician (light commercial preferred)

Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, components, and controls

EPA Universal Certification required

Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation

Valid drivers license with a clean driving record

Ability to work independently and manage service calls effectively

Strong communication and customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications

Experience servicing ice machines and self-contained units

Basic electrical troubleshooting experience

Familiarity with mobile work order systems or CMMS platforms
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work in confined spaces, on ladders, and in varying temperature conditions
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb for extended period
