Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled OR Surgical Tech for a travel contract assignment in a fast-paced Operating Room setting. The ideal candidate will have strong experience assisting surgical teams during operative procedures and must be comfortable working in Trauma, Orthopedics, and Robotics cases.
The Surgical Tech will be responsible for preparing the operating room, maintaining sterile technique, handling surgical instruments, and supporting surgeons and nursing staff throughout procedures while ensuring patient safety and quality care.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain sterile operating room environment
Assist surgeons during surgical procedures by passing instruments and supplies
Ensure proper handling and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment
Anticipate surgical team needs during procedures
Maintain accurate counts of instruments, sharps, and sponges
Adhere to hospital safety policies and infection control standards
Collaborate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia staff to provide high-quality patient care
Requirements:
Active Surgical Tech Certificate
BLS Certification
NIHSS Certification
Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room experience
Minimum 1 year of travel assignment experience
Additional Requirements:
Must participate in weekday, weekend, and holiday call rotation
Must be available to work weekends and holidays as requested by AVMC
Completed skills checklist required at the time of submission
Strong experience in:\nTrauma cases\nOrthopedics\nRobotics surgeries
