About the Role:
Richard G Fleischer Jr is looking for a detail-oriented Customs Entry Writer to join our team in Los Angeles, CA. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in international trade compliance, ensuring smooth and accurate customs clearance for our clients. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit customs entry documentation in compliance with CBP regulations
- Classify imported goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS)
- Coordinate with importers, freight forwarders, and government agencies to facilitate cargo release
- Review commercial invoices, bills of lading, and packing lists for accuracy
- Monitor and resolve customs holds, exams, and compliance issues
- Maintain accurate records and entry files in accordance with recordkeeping requirements
- Communicate entry status updates to clients in a timely manner
Requirements:
- Prior experience as a Customs Entry Writer or in a customs brokerage environment
- Working knowledge of CBP regulations, HTS classification, and trade compliance
- Familiarity with customs entry software and ABI/ACE filing systems
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple entries simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Licensed Customs Broker designation is a plus
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, deadline-driven environment
- Experience with Cargo Wise
