HR Manager – Temporary 5-Month Assignment

Location: Brea, CA
Schedule: Full-Time | Temporary – 5 Months
Compensation: $70–$75/hour | Approximately $12,000–$15,000/month

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on HR Manager for a five-month temporary assignment supporting a fast-paced manufacturing operation in Brea, CA. This individual will serve as a key HR partner to site leadership, supervisors, and employees, providing day-to-day support across employee relations, performance management, compliance, workforce planning, recruiting, and employee engagement.

Manufacturing HR experience is required. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working directly with both hourly production and salaried employees and can quickly build credibility across all levels of the organization.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional who can hit the ground running and make an immediate impact during the assignment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR partner for the manufacturing facility, supporting hourly and salaried employees.
  • Partner with site and operations leadership on employee relations, staffing, workforce planning, and organizational needs.
  • Coach managers and supervisors on performance management, attendance, corrective actions, conflict resolution, and employee concerns.
  • Conduct timely and objective workplace investigations and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Provide guidance on California employment law, wage-and-hour requirements, leaves of absence, accommodations, and HR compliance.
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, employee transitions, and retention initiatives.
  • Assist leadership in addressing turnover, absenteeism, staffing, and other workforce challenges.
  • Ensure consistent application of company policies and HR practices.
  • Maintain a visible and approachable presence on the manufacturing floor and build strong relationships with employees and supervisors.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and documentation.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Payroll, Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Safety, and other business functions.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and additional HR projects throughout the assignment.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, including HR Manager, HR Business Partner, or senior HR Generalist responsibilities.
  • Manufacturing HR experience is required.
  • Experience supporting both hourly production and salaried employees.
  • Strong employee relations background, including investigations, corrective actions, performance management, and conflict resolution.
  • Strong working knowledge of California employment laws and HR compliance.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is nice to have but not necessary
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is a plus.
  • Aerospace, defense, composites, industrial, or other regulated manufacturing experience is highly desirable.

This is a full-time, temporary assignment anticipated to last approximately five months and is ideal for an experienced manufacturing HR professional who can quickly integrate into the organization and provide immediate HR leadership and support.
