THE ROLE

The Inventory / Parts Associate keeps the TPI – Holloway Materials Recovery Facility supplied with the parts, tools, and materials it needs to run safely and reliably. This position receives, stores, issues, and tracks inventory so Maintenance and Operations can get the right parts quickly and avoid equipment downtime. The role reports to the Director of Operations.


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Receive and inspect incoming parts, materials, and supplies against purchase orders and packing slips
  • Label, organize, and store items in designated locations
  • Protect stored materials from damage, contamination, and weather
  • Issue parts, tools, and materials and document each transaction
  • Help Maintenance find replacement parts, including during emergency repairs
  • Record parts usage on Maintain X work orders when applicable
  • Keep inventory quantities and storage locations accurate
  • Monitor stock levels and flag items that need to be reordered
  • Keep critical spare parts in stock to prevent plant downtime
  • Perform cycle counts and investigate discrepancies
  • Report obsolete, damaged, or excess inventory to management
  • Assist with purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and quotes
  • Track open orders, back orders, and critical deliveries
  • Handle returns, warranty items, and cores with vendors
  • Keep parts rooms and storage areas clean, organized, and safe
  • Properly store oils, chemicals, batteries, and heavy materials
  • Operate forklifts and pallet jacks only when trained and authorized
  • Wear required PPE and report hazards immediately
  • Other duties as assigned

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Accurate data entry and recordkeeping
  • Ability to track parts by manufacturer and part number
  • Ability to read purchase orders, packing slips, and parts documentation
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel
  • Willingness to learn Maintain X and other company systems
  • Strong communication skills and ability to handle multiple requests in a fast-paced plant
  • Mechanical, industrial, or heavy-equipment parts knowledge preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Environmental conditions - Works indoors and outdoors in an active recycling plant with exposure to dust, noise, and temperature changes
  • Lift and move parts and materials within company limits
  • Climb stairs and work around industrial equipment
  • Stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Wear required PPE in designated plant areas

Pay: $20-22/hr
