Laboratory Technician - Gas & Hydrocarbon Testing
Summary Provide laboratory support for gas and hydrocarbon liquid testing while maintaining compliance with quality, safety, and laboratory procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive and log samples into the LIMS system.
Perform analytical testing using:
Gas Chromatography (GC)
RVP
Molecular Weight
Density
Distillation
Follow ASTM, GPA, and other standardized testing methods.
Report test results to customers and communicate via phone/email as needed.
Conduct routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.
Assist with cylinder cleaning, preparation, shipping, and general lab housekeeping.
Follow all laboratory safety, quality, environmental, and ethics procedures.
Required Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Physical Science, or related field.
Minimum 2 years of laboratory experience.
Experience working with GC (Gas Chromatography) preferred.
Experience following SOPs and standardized test methods.
Strong documentation and recordkeeping skills.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
Preferred Experience:
Hydrocarbon, petroleum, chemical, energy, environmental, or testing laboratory experience.
Experience with LIMS systems.
Familiarity with ASTM and GPA test methods.

This is a Contract position based out of Torrance, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
