Join our outstanding team at The Quail as our Hotel Manager, where you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the hotel and ensure an exceptional guest experience at every touchpoint.

In this role you will:

  • Work for a highly prestigious hotel located in sunny Carmel Valley, California

  • Act as pivotal part of the Executive Committee

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of the entire property, ensuring consistent operational performance.
  • Manage aspects of operational insurance and legal matters
  • Lead and develop department heads and managers, fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Managing Director to develop and execute the property’s strategic vision and business plan, translating priorities into measurable operational and financial results.
  • Drive property-wide operational excellence, balancing elevated service standards with efficiency, productivity, and disciplined cost management.
  • Provide strategic input on capital projects and future developments, ensuring investments enhance the guest experience, asset value, and return on investment.
  • Oversee operating budgets and financial controls across hotel operations, driving accountability for expenses, productivity, and profitability.
  • Develop and mentor department leaders, cultivating a high-performance culture and strong pipeline of talent.
  • Assume overall operational leadership in the Managing Director absence, ensuring continuity of service, business performance, and team alignment.

General Requirements:

  • Prior experience with POS and Resort management systems
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Must be knowledgeable with compliance in health and safety standards
  • 7 years of hospitality experience required
  • 5 years or more managing supervisory level staff required
  • Hospitality management degree preferred

Salary: $145,000 - $150,000.00 per year + Bonus
