Job DescriptionRole Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and patient focused Caregiver 1 to provide essential personal care and support services to older adults and individuals with complex care needs in a center based healthcare environment.
Under the direction and supervision of the Supervisor or Manager, the Caregiver 1 provides hands on personal care services to patients receiving care at the center. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys helping others maintain their comfort, dignity, independence, and quality of life.
The ideal candidate brings a positive, can do attitude, strong communication skills, compassion, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide personal care and escort assistance according to each patient's individualized care plan, including grooming, dressing, peri care, showering, bathing, toileting, housekeeping, meal preparation, feeding, and laundry.
• Observe patients for changes in condition and promptly communicate relevant changes to the appropriate team members.
• Follow safe care practices at all times, including proper body mechanics, universal precautions, infection prevention practices, and environmental safety procedures.
• Interact professionally and compassionately with patients, families, caregivers, and team members.
• Encourage patients to participate in appropriate conversations, activities, and social interactions.
• Provide services in accordance with established care plans, policies, procedures, and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate care related documentation on designated forms and/or within the electronic health record.
• Translate or interpret basic information for supervisors, managers, patients, and other caregivers when applicable. Language proficiency testing may be required.
• Work collaboratively with internal team members while also demonstrating the ability to complete assigned responsibilities independently.
• Use basic logic, sound judgment, and common sense to complete routine responsibilities and resolve straightforward issues.
• Adapt to operational or care related changes communicated by management.
• May assist with mentoring and/or training other team members when appropriate.
• Maintain a professional, respectful, organized, and patient focused care environment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required QualificationsExperience
• Minimum of one year of experience working with an elderly or frail population.
• Certification is not required for the minimum experience qualification.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Ability to work effectively in a center-based healthcare environment.
• Positive, can do attitude with a conscientious, compassionate, and thorough approach to patient care.
• Basic conversational English skills are required. Language testing may be required.

Type: Full-time contract role Monday - Friday 8 am -5 pm
Environment: On-site working with multiple patients.
