Venice, California
Direct Counsel is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join a growing and well-regarded litigation firm in Venice, California. This is an excellent opportunity for driven attorneys looking to take on meaningful responsibility and grow with a dynamic, expanding practice. Multiple associate positions are available.
Responsibilities:

Manage day-to-day litigation matters and supervise junior staff as appropriate

Develop and execute discovery strategies, including propounding and responding to discovery, drafting meet-and-confer correspondence, and preparing motions to compel

Draft pleadings, briefs, and motions, including oppositions to summary judgment

Take and defend party, witness, and expert depositions

Conduct legal research and factual investigations

Appear in court, argue motions, and attend hearings
-
Meet directly with clients and prepare them for depositions and trial

First- or second-chair trial experience and insurance defense experience are a plus
Qualifications:

Active admission to the California State Bar

2–7+ years of substantive litigation experience

Strong writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills

Ability to manage cases independently while collaborating with a team
Compensation:
-
Competitive base salary ranging from $160,000–$220,000, commensurate with experience
