Role Description The Hairstylist role at Tops Salon is a full-time or part-time, on-site position based in Mission Hills San Diego. Day-to-day responsibilities include consulting with clients to understand their needs, performing haircuts, styling, coloring, and treatments, and recommending appropriate hair care products and routines. The Hairstylist will maintain a clean and organized workstation, follow salon health and safety standards, and ensure appointments run on schedule. The role also involves building client relationships, managing repeat bookings, and contributing to a positive, collaborative salon culture.

Qualifications

- Strong Hair Styling and Hair Care skills, including cuts, color, treatments, and finishing techniques.
- Formal training or certification in Cosmetology and a current state cosmetology license (or eligibility to obtain one in California).
- Demonstrated Customer Service skills, with a focus on creating a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive client experience.
- Effective Communication skills for client consultations, product recommendations, and teamwork with other salon professionals.
- Ability to work on-site full-time in San Diego, CA, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Attention to hygiene and safety standards, with strong time management and organizational skills.
- Experience in a salon environment and familiarity with current trends in haircutting, color, and styling is preferred.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing education and training to enhance technical and client service skills.
