Job Description

Job DescriptionPosition: CNC Lead ProgrammerHours: 40 hours per week Position Summary The CNC Lead Programmer is a high-level technical role responsible for the architecture of our manufacturing processes. Beyond developing complex 5-axis mill and multi-axis lathe programs, the Lead Programmer establishes programming standards, selects advanced tooling strategies, and mentors the programming team. This role serves as the critical bridge between Engineering and the Shop Floor, driving "First Article" success and continuous improvement in cycle times and material yields.
Responsibilities

  • Mastermind programs for high-complexity, tight-tolerance semiconductor components using 5-axis mills and Swiss/Multi-tasking lathes.
  • Develop and maintain a unified "Global Post-Processor" and "Tooling Library" to ensure consistency across all shifts and machines.
  • Utilize advanced simulation software (e.g., Vericut or built-in CAM simulation) to perform virtual "dry runs," eliminating the risk of machine crashes.
  • Cycle Time Reduction: Audit existing programs to optimize tool paths, speeds, and feeds, aiming for maximum throughput without compromising tool life.
  • Act as the primary consultant for the Engineering team during the design phase to ensure parts are optimized for manufacturing.
  • Lead and train junior programmers and senior machinists on advanced CNC techniques and troubleshooting.
  • Lead the technical investigation into "out-of-spec" parts or recurring programming errors, implementing permanent corrective actions.

Qualifications & Skills

  • AA degree or equivalent technical certification; Bachelor’s in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering is a significant plus.
  • 10+ years of hands-on CNC programming and machining experience, with at least 3 years in a Lead or Senior capacity.
  • Expert-level proficiency in MasterCAM and NX. Must be capable of custom post-processor modifications.
  • Deep understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and the ability to program in conjunction with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) data.

Benefits

  • 100% company-paid Health insurance (Medical/Dental/Vision) for employees
  • Life and AD&D insurance
  • Paid time off and holiday pay
  • Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Health Savings Account (HSA) Employer Contribution
  • 401k with company matching up to 4%
