Job Description
Painting duties include, but are not limited to, performing daily painting and general maintenance tasks throughout the property. Painters are responsible for completing assigned work orders and maintenance projects in a safe, professional, and timely manner.
Responsibilities include performing general physical labor such as climbing ladders, working on scaffolding, lifting materials, and applying plaster, stucco, paint, and related finishes. Employees must be able to prepare and repair surfaces for painting or wallpaper installation, including sanding, scraping, patching, cleaning, and other prep work. Painters must also be able to distinguish colors accurately and apply appropriate paints, coatings, adhesives, solvents, and finishes.
Additional duties and responsibilities include:
- Sanding, scraping, patching, and surface preparation
- Cleaning and maintaining work areas and equipment
- Completing assigned work orders and maintenance requests
- Minor cement and patchwork repairs
- Troubleshooting and reporting leaks or water intrusion issues
- Performing basic carpentry and repair work
- Fabricating, assembling, and disassembling materials or fixtures as needed
- Using hand tools, power tools, ladders, and scaffolding safely and properly
- Reading tape measurements and estimating materials or time required for projects
- Following all safety procedures and property standards
- Communicating effectively with residents, vendors, and management staff
- Providing courteous, respectful, and professional customer service at all times
- Interacting with residents to complete assigned tasks and maintenance requests
- Following through on assignments until work is fully completed
- Performing other duties and special projects as assigned by management
- Following the direction and instructions of management staff at all times
Employees are expected to maintain a professional appearance, demonstrate reliability and accountability, and work cooperatively with team members to ensure the property is properly maintained.
