The Bindery Supervisor is responsible for managing the daily operations of the bindery, including binding, trimming, and packaging, to ensure efficient workflow, quality control, and compliance with safety and production standards jobs.georgiamanufacturingalliance.com. They work under the direction of a Post Press Manager or Plant Superintendent to maintain cost-effective, high-quality output.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervision & Leadership: Direct and train staff, assign and direct work, resolve employee issues, and maintain positive working relationships
- Production Oversight: Monitor bindery operations, ensure equipment is in good working order, and troubleshoot operational issues hiringpeople.io.
- Quality Control: Perform first-piece inspections, maintain quality standards, and ensure compliance with customer and company specifications
- Process Improvement: Participate in cross-functional teams to improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance processes PIAS.
- Training & Development: Train new and existing employees in bindery processes, safety, and quality standards PIAS+1.
- Recordkeeping & Compliance: Maintain accurate production records, machine maintenance logs, and ensure adherence to safety regulations hiringpeople.io.
- Inventory & Materials: Manage bindery materials inventory and coordinate with vendors for timely deliveries hiringpeople.io.
- Special Projects: Complete assigned projects and special tasks as needed PIAS.
Skills & Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or related experience may be preferred
- Experience: 2–5 years in bindery operations with supervisory experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with bindery equipment, knowledge of paper stocks and materials, and ability to maintain machinery www.thejobexplorer.com.
