Job Overview
We are seeking a vigilant and dependable Security Officer to uphold safety and security within our organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of responsibility, excellent observational skills, and the ability to manage conflict effectively. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for monitoring premises, ensuring the safety of staff and visitors, and responding promptly to security incidents with professionalism and integrity.
Duties
- Conduct regular patrols of the facility to identify potential security risks or breaches.
- Monitor surveillance systems such as CCTV cameras to oversee activity across the premises.
- Respond swiftly and appropriately to emergencies, including medical incidents requiring first aid or CPR.
- Enforce security policies and procedures while maintaining a respectful and professional demeanor.
- Manage access control by verifying identification and authorizations for staff, visitors, and vendors.
- Document incidents accurately and prepare detailed reports for management review.
- Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency services when necessary to resolve issues effectively.
- Utilize conflict management skills to de-escalate tense situations calmly and efficiently.
Requirements
- Proven experience in security roles, law enforcement, military service, or related fields.
- Knowledge of surveillance techniques, CCTV operation.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required.
- Strong conflict management abilities with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to remain alert during long shifts while maintaining high levels of attention to detail.
- Familiarity with security protocols, incident reporting procedures, and emergency response plans.

- We never close, operating 365 days per year and run 3, 8 hour shifts per day.

The services we provide focus on individual skill building, accomplished through individual and/or group activities, all the while focusing on staff development and professional growth in order to provide effective services to those we serve. BSS seeks to empower individuals by providing them with the knowledge and training necessary to address existing behavior issues, identify solutions to future problems, and live a productive, self-supporting, clean and sober, crime-free life.
