Make a positive impact in a supportive educational environment as an Occupational Therapist working with a smaller district in the Bay Area near Oakland. This full-time contract role spans the full school year, starting as soon as possible and running through May 16th. You’ll provide student-centered therapy services that promote academic success and encourage independent participation in daily activities.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid license or certification as an Occupational Therapist in the state of California
  • Previous experience or strong familiarity working in a school-based setting
  • Knowledge of IEP processes, special education laws, and best practices for supporting diverse student needs
  • Ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to develop and implement effective intervention strategies
  • Excellent communication skills and a flexible, solution-focused mindset

Responsibilities:

  • Assess students’ functional abilities and participate in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Deliver direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students from various grade levels
  • Develop tailored strategies and activities that support students’ fine motor, sensory, self-care, and organizational skill development
  • Maintain accurate documentation of interventions and student progress for compliance with school and district requirements
  • Work with a multidisciplinary team to create inclusive learning environments that address individual needs
  • Effectively communicate progress and recommendations with parents, staff, and educators
