Seeking a detail-oriented vinyl graphics installer to work in our sign graphics department. This position will primarily prepare and apply high-performance 3M and Arlon pressure-sensitive vinyl graphics to flat sign faces and substrates.
Required/Preferred Skills:
- Experience with cut vinyl graphics, including weeding, masking/application tape, trimming and installation.
- Ability to accurately measure, position and align vinyl lettering and graphics on sign faces.
- Experience applying 3M, Arlon or similar high-performance pressure-sensitive vinyl films.
- Proper use of squeegees, application tape, masking tape, knives and other vinyl application tools.
- Ability to properly clean and prepare substrates prior to vinyl application to ensure good adhesion.
- Knowledge of proper squeegee technique using firm, overlapping strokes to minimize bubbles, wrinkles and trapped air.
- Ability to apply graphics without excessive stretching or distortion and maintain proper registration/alignment.
- Comfortable performing both dry application and wet application when appropriate for the specific vinyl/substrate.
- Skilled with precision knife work and trimming without damaging the sign face.
- Able to identify and correct common application issues such as bubbles, wrinkles, poor adhesion, edge lifting and misalignment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing clean, professional, defect-free finished graphics.
Ideal candidate: Someone with previous sign-shop, vinyl graphics, decal, vehicle graphics, or wrap installation experience who can work independently after being shown our shop procedures.
