Overview

Hiring company is a leading Asia-dedicated fund-of-funds managing approximately $15 billion (AUM) in regulatory assets. The company invests with top performance private equity fund managers across Asia primarily in Greater China, Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia, India, and Australia; and is diversified across buyout, growth and expansion, venture capital and special situation funds. The company has an agile team of over 60 professionals across four offices located in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai, and San Francisco.

We are looking for an exceptional Fund Accountant to join the Finance Team with substantial responsibility from day one. The position will be a great fit for someone who is looking to join a leading Asia private equity firm, with finance or accounting team support experience and a proven commitment to consistently delivering high quality work. The ideal candidate should also have exceptional organizational and critical thinking skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment to meet objectives. The candidate must be confident and thrive in an ever-changing fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain Fund and General Partner general ledgers including, but not limited, to recording of quarterly expense, accruals and intercompany payables/receivables, investment transactions and allocations to Limited Partners;
  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements;
  • Assist with annual audits and tax filings;
  • Monitor cash position for assigned funds;
  • Calculate, record and process Fund and Investment capital calls and distributions;
  • Interface with Investor Relations to respond to Limited Partner inquiries; and
  • Complete various ad-hoc reports as requested.

Requirements

  • Four-year Bachelor's degree with concentration in accounting, finance or economics or four-year Bachelor's degree and applicable accounting experience;
  • 1 to 3 years of prior accounting experience;
  • Minimum one year in public accounting or equivalent in an accounting-related position, ideally with a private equity firm, venture capital firm or fund-of-funds;
  • Must be able to exercise sound judgment with integrity, energy and a proven commitment to consistently high quality work;
  • Must be flexible, able to problem solve and have the desire to be involved in a wide variety of accounting projects and assignments;
  • Must have exceptional organizational and critical thinking skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment to meet objectives;
  • Bay Area resident - relocation is not available for this role; and
  • Must be eligible to work in US.
