Pay: $160,000.00 - $230,000.00 per year

Note: Candidates must be admitted to the California Bar and be a 2nd to 6th year associate with recent experience representing lenders in loans secured by real estate and/or investors investing in real estate joint ventures.

Job Description

  • Represent lenders in loans secured by real estate and investors in real estate joint ventures.
  • Draft and negotiate senior real estate secured loan documents.
  • Draft and review real estate joint venture partnership and operating agreements.
  • Handle sophisticated real estate lending, joint venture financing, and community development finance transactions.
  • Review title commitments, recorded documents, and surveys and oversee related paralegal review.
  • Assist with financings involving low-income housing, historic rehabilitation, new markets, energy, and other state and federal tax credit programs.
  • Work on transactions involving multifamily residential, office, hotel, industrial, and other real estate assets.
  • Collaborate with experienced attorneys while developing increasing transaction and client responsibility.

Qualifications

  • Active California Bar license required.
  • Recent real estate transactional experience required.
  • 2+ years of experience representing lenders in real estate secured lending transactions and/or investors in real estate joint ventures.
  • Experience drafting secured loan documents and/or real estate joint venture partnership or operating agreements.
  • Experience reviewing title commitments, recorded documents, and surveys.
  • Strong legal writing and drafting skills.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Tax credit transaction experience preferred.
