Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students in a vibrant school environment near Monterey, CA. Two positions are available for experienced Special Education Teachers to join dedicated teams, working full-time with structured SDC (Special Day Class) classrooms. One position focuses on grades 1-3, while the other serves grades 4-6, both supporting students with autism. This role ensures meaningful impact and professional fulfillment, starting as soon as possible and extending through the end of the school year.
What You'll Need:
- Active CTC licensure with a Moderate to Severe or Extensive Support Needs (ESN) credential
- Proven ability to effectively support elementary students with autism in a classroom setting
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with staff, students, and families
- Capacity to foster inclusive, nurturing learning environments and positive student engagement
- Dedication to tailoring instruction to individual student needs
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) for each student, tracking progress toward goals
- Adapt curriculum and instruction to meet diverse learning needs within the SDC framework
- Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals, therapists, and general education teachers
- Proactively communicate with parents and guardians to support each child’s progress
- Contribute to a positive, organized, and structured classroom atmosphere
