Job Description

BioTalent is partnered with an innovative biotechnology company developing next-generation genomics and molecular detection technologies. We're looking for an experienced RA II / Senior Research Associate with a strong background in surface chemistry, biofunctionalized surfaces, and process execution to support the scale-up of a cutting-edge biosensor platform.

\n

\n

This is a highly hands-on role where you'll be responsible for executing surface functionalization processes, running analytical characterization methods, and supporting the transition from R&D into pilot-scale production. Strong laboratory execution, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently are essential.

\n

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

    \n
  • Execute surface functionalization processes including SAM, silane, hydrogel, and brush polymer chemistries.
  • \n

  • Perform surface characterization using fluorescence-based assays, contact angle measurements, and electrochemical techniques.
  • \n

  • Support oligonucleotide immobilization, hybridization assays, and other biofunctionalized surface applications.
  • \n

  • Execute DOE-driven experiments and provide statistical analysis of results.
  • \n

  • Maintain accurate laboratory documentation, batch records, and ELN entries.
  • \n

  • Assist with thin-film deposition and surface patterning processes.
  • \n

  • Troubleshoot routine process issues and collaborate closely with scientists and engineers.
  • \n

\n

\n

What We're Looking For

\n

    \n
  • BS or MS in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, or a related discipline.
  • \n

  • 2-4+ years of industry experience in surface chemistry, thin-film deposition, microarrays, biointerfaces, or related technologies.
  • \n

  • Experience with interfacial materials and surface characterization techniques.
  • \n

  • Familiarity with nucleotide-based assays, probe immobilization, hybridization, or bioconjugation methods.
  • \n

  • Understanding of DOE principles, statistical analysis, and structured laboratory documentation.
  • \n

  • Proven experience working independently in a production or process-driven laboratory environment.
  • \n

\n

\n

Why Consider This Opportunity?

\n

    \n
  • Join a rapidly growing company at the forefront of genomics innovation.
  • \n

  • Work on breakthrough technologies with real-world impact.
  • \n

  • Collaborate with an experienced, multidisciplinary scientific team.
  • \n

  • Gain visibility across both research and product development activities.
  • \n

  • Excellent benefits package including healthcare, 401(k), PTO, company-paid life insurance, and onsite gym access.
  • \n
